Domperidone
Also known as: Motilium
What it's for
Domperidone treats nausea and vomiting. It works by speeding up the movement of food through your stomach. It is used for stomach discomfort and bloating.
Comes as: Tablets
How to take it
- Adults: Usually 10mg up to 3 times daily.
- Take before meals.
- Use the lowest dose for the shortest time possible.
- Maximum 30mg per day.
Doses here are typical. Always follow the instructions from your prescriber or on the packet — they come first.
Common side effects
- Dry mouth
- Headache
- Breast tenderness or milk production (rare)

Important safety points
- Use the lowest dose for the shortest time
- Not recommended if you have heart problems
- Can affect heart rhythm - tell your doctor about all medicines you take
- Not for long-term use
Get medical help urgently if…
- You have a fast or irregular heartbeat
- You have chest pain
- You faint or feel very dizzy
- You have seizures
