Indapamide
Also known as: Natrilix
What it's for
Indapamide is a water tablet (diuretic) for high blood pressure. It helps your body get rid of extra salt and water. It is often used when other treatments alone are not enough.
Comes as: Tablets
How to take it
- Adults: Usually 2.5mg once daily in the morning.
- Or 1.5mg modified-release once daily.
- Take at the same time each day.
- You can take it with or without food.
Doses here are typical. Always follow the instructions from your prescriber or on the packet — they come first.
Common side effects
- Dizziness, especially when standing up
- Headache
- Tiredness
- Needing to pass urine more often

Important safety points
- Can lower potassium - your doctor may monitor this
- May raise blood sugar - important if you have diabetes
- Take in the morning to avoid needing the toilet at night
- Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems
Get medical help urgently if…
- You have severe muscle cramps or weakness
- You have an irregular heartbeat
- You feel very thirsty with dry mouth and confusion
- You have severe dizziness or fainting
