Seretide
Also known as: Fluticasone/Salmeterol, AirFluSal
What it's for
Seretide combines a steroid preventer (fluticasone) with a long-acting reliever (salmeterol) for asthma and COPD. Use it regularly to control symptoms.
Comes as: Inhaler (Evohaler or Accuhaler)
How to take it
- Adults: Usually 1 or 2 puffs twice daily.
- Use at the same times each day.
- Rinse your mouth after use.
- Keep using it even when you feel well.
Doses here are typical. Always follow the instructions from your prescriber or on the packet — they come first.
Common side effects
- Oral thrush
- Hoarse voice
- Headache
- Muscle cramps

Important safety points
- This is not for sudden relief - keep your blue inhaler for emergencies
- Rinse your mouth after use to prevent thrush
- Do not stop suddenly
- Tell your doctor if your symptoms are not controlled
Get medical help urgently if…
- You have worsening symptoms despite regular use
- You need your reliever inhaler more often than usual
- You have chest pain or very fast heartbeat
- You cannot complete sentences due to breathlessness
